Personal Background

Phil Pearce was the founder of Ecological Land Management in 2001. He saw a clear need to deliver practical conservation management within the private sector. Previously ecologists would carry out surveys and provide recommendations to clients, but from then onwards it was the client’s responsibility to find someone to implement these recommendations.

ELM Ltd fills this gap, providing ecological surveys and recommendations by trained professionals as well as the technical expertise to carry out the work required.

Phil is personally committed to ecological issues. His work with rangers in Southern Africa has given him a broader understanding of global ecological issues, and he regularly attends conferences to keep him ahead of current issues.

Industry Experience

Phil worked throughout the UK for over 10 years in the countryside management sector prior to the inception of ELM. He has been employed by the Hampshire Wildlife Trust, Flintshire CC, Cornwall CC and the Game Conservancy Trust.

In 2006, Phil assisted in the organisation of the International Ranger Federation Congress at Stirling, Scotland where over 320 rangers represented 40 nations from around the world.
